Epps Gymnasium. With the win, the Golden Rams improved to 12-7 overall and 9-3 in SIAC play, while the Panthers dropped to 11-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference.

The game marked a significant test for Albany State, as the team faced unusual adversity leading up to the matchup, with three days off and no practice due to snow. Despite the challenges, the Golden Rams displayed incredible resilience and teamwork to snap Clark Atlanta’s momentum.

The deficit grew to 19 points in the second half with 11:57 left in regulation, but the Golden Rams refused to back down, mounting an extraordinary comeback.

Led by standout performances from five players in double digits, Albany State took over in the final minutes. Shakur Poteat spearheaded the rally with a game-high 16 points, shooting an impressive 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Cameron Evans added critical scoring with 14 points, including clutch three-pointers that swung the momentum in Albany State’s favor. Blaise Wallace and G’Shan Aldridgeeach contributed 13 points, with Wallace adding five rebounds and Aldridge controlling the tempo as the team’s floor general. Jabari Williams rounded out the scoring leaders with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, dominating the paint and securing second-chance opportunities.

The Golden Rams’ defense stepped up in the second half, forcing turnovers and limiting Clark Atlanta’s scoring. Albany State capitalized on the Panthers’ mistakes, converting them into 26 points off turnovers. The team also outrebounded Clark Atlanta on the offensive boards, creating additional scoring opportunities that proved decisive.

The victory not only extended Albany State’s win streak but also marked a critical milestone in the team’s season, showcasing their ability to overcome adversity and deliver under pressure.
